JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Opening Date: October 6, 2014 to October 24, 2014

Position Title : Public Relations I
Position Classification: Full-time
Salary Range : PL 1 – Grade 1: $6,500-8,500 annually (based on qualifications & work experiences)
Benefits: Commensurate Pay with Government required coverage: Pension Plan & Social Security

Qualifications:

*High school graduate with diploma
*At least 2 years work experience in tourism and hospitality or related fields, with equivalent combination of experience and training, knowledge, and ability to perform fully
*Computer literate: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
*Understands the value and importance of “Sustainable tourism”
*Knowledgeable of Palauan culture and heritage including unique attractions.
*Ability to deliver “preferred customer services” experience to both visitors and locals alike; organizations, groups, tourism related governmental agencies, States, etc.
*Read, speak, and write in English and Palauan (preferably Japanese speaking, but not required)
*Posses good Public Relation and Customer Service related skills

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

*Purchase all requisitioned supplies/items: obtain quotations and prepare Purchase Requisition Quotations (PRQs) for CS&S Department
*Handle Tour Operators Licensing: ensure new and renewing applicants are in compliance with requirements prior to review and approval of applications by Managing Director
*Assist with the arrival welcoming/greeting services provided by CS&S Department
*Assist in maintaining adequate stock level of all tourism related marketing/promotional collateral and information from tourism industry partners and government agencies for visitors and locals
*Provide logistic supports with coordinate CS&S activities, campaigns, programs, projects, etc: geared towards “community awareness” and “sustainable tourism” practices.
*Coordinate general clean-up of interior and exterior of PVA as necessary
*Performs other duties and responsibilities pertaining to and/or relevant to the promotion of Palau both internationally and locally, as requested by community Support & Services Manager.
