The Emmaus High School class of 2012 is an inspirational group of young men who lead by example. Seniors Tzun Rafael and Texterlan Tabelual spoke on behalf of their fellow seniors in a recent interview, sharing how their class took the initiative to better their campus and how the general public can contribute.

Emmaus Seniors Class - 2012

Rafael and Tabelual explained that the senior class saw it fit to create a proper driveway between their dormitory and the school’s kitchen, and took the initiative to make their ideas a reality. Without any sort of school funding, the young men went ahead and began purchasing supplies whenever they had the personal resources to do so.

“We want to be known as hard workers… When we leave the school, we want to leave good memories and be role models to our younger classmates,” said Texterlan Tabelual.

The senior class planned out and will be hosting an all-day fundraising event this Saturday, March 24, with the proceeds going towards school improvement projects. The day will feature a student walk and pick, a secondhand/garage sale, food sales, little league baseball and a men’s 4×4 basketball tournament/championship. There will also be a Christian music mini-concert scheduled for 2pm– featuring singers Edward Anastacio, Howard Charles, Magrina Aderiano and Halley Eriich.

The Emmaus High School fundraiser is open to the general public and begins at 6am, running throughout the day. Teams interested in the basketball tournament can sign up at Emmaus beginning Friday (March 23) up until the morning of the event. The registration fee is $25 per team.
